Submitting a correction

Anyone can propose a correction to a Claim — but it has to cite a real source from the segment's approved list of source types (benchmark, documentation, a CVE, commit history, a postmortem, and so on). Plain assertions without a citation aren't eligible.

Once a correction is submitted, other members vote on it. Enough support merges the correction into the claim as a visible addendum, and the correction's author gets authorship credit for the improvement — see Authorship credit for how that's split.

Merging isn't the end of the story: a correction can later be disputed and reverted if its source turns out to be discredited.
